Grounded

Our Story

Why now?

In 2025, I lost my home in the Eaton Fire in Los Angeles. In those difficult days, I learned a hard truth: when disaster strikes, you definitely can't count on the government, insurance companies, or the economy to save you. What made the difference was people.

"I have friends and family, they will help me."

Tacit friendship is not enough. I was surprised to find that some of those who showed up in the most important ways were those we didn't often hang out with, but instead those who shared the same philosophies, principles and values. Those who took care of us did so not because they liked us personally (though they did), but because they had a sense of obligation to their relationships. That experience taught me that real community isn't necessarily about friendship or social groups, but about showing up when it matters most.

This platform exists to help you find and build those real connections before you need them. Because when things get tough (and by all accounts, they're going to get a lot tougher in the coming years), the strength of your community makes all the difference. We need real, offline, physical communities instead of new ways to share our digital lives.

Our mission is to create a platform that fosters genuine human connection, mutual aid, and community resilience. We believe that by bringing people together around shared values and goals, we can build a better future.

We can nurture resilient communities that amplify prosperity in the good times and support each other in the bad times, we just need to commit to building them.
